<p>Day by day the energy demand is increasing as world population increases. However, to fulfill the energy demand; various power plants have been developed to generate high energies such as nuclear power plants (NPP), thermal power plants, etc. For producing high energy and green energy, NPPs are one of the best solutions. However, there are several aspects of the NPPs during generation of energies such as high thermal efficiency, safety of the plant, sustainability and reliability. Supercritical Water Cooled Reactors (SCWRs) and Supercritical Natural Circulation Loops (SCNCLs) are mostly used in the NPPs for providing high thermal efficiency and provide safety of the plant respectively as well as represent significant advancements in NPP, promising enhanced efficiency, sustainability, and safety. This comprehensive literature review investigates the reliability, sustainability, and safety aspects of SCWRs and SCNCLs, which is taken from a wide array of research studies and previous published research works.</p>
