<p>Many studies have been conducted to address the issue of unit non-response in simple random sampling without replacement. However, little research has focused on unit non-response in linear systematic sampling. In light of this, we have suggested an ancillary variable-based generalized product type estimator for the mean of population in the situation of a unit non-response under linear systematic sampling. The estimator’s bias and mean square error expressions are acquired. The generalized product estimator is compared to other estimators, such as sample mean, ratio and product estimators. The theoretical findings are validated through a numerical investigation.</p>
