<p>In this article, group acceptance sampling inspection plan is introduced when the quality characteristic follows some finite mixture distributions, viz., the Lindley, Akash and Shanker distributions. In the proposed plan, the lot quality is measured by the lot mean (<InlineEquation ID="IEq1"> <InlineMediaObject> <ImageObject Color="BlackWhite" FileRef="41872_2025_305_Article_IEq1.gif" Format="GIF" Height="12" Rendition="HTML" Resolution="72" Type="Linedraw" Width="15" /> </InlineMediaObject> <EquationSource Format="TEX">\(\mu\)</EquationSource> <EquationSource Format="MATHML"><math> <mi>μ</mi> </math></EquationSource> </InlineEquation>). Minimum number of groups are obtained, which is necessary to ensure for a certain specified lifetime, in case of the Lindley, Akash and Shanker&#xa0;distributions, when the shape parameter <InlineEquation ID="IEq2"> <InlineMediaObject> <ImageObject Color="BlackWhite" FileRef="41872_2025_305_Article_IEq2.gif" Format="GIF" Height="14" Rendition="HTML" Resolution="72" Type="Linedraw" Width="13" /> </InlineMediaObject> <EquationSource Format="TEX">\(\theta\)</EquationSource> <EquationSource Format="MATHML"><math> <mi>θ</mi> </math></EquationSource> </InlineEquation> known to us. Also, operating characteristic (OC) values of the proposed plan are presented for the ratio of true mean life time to specified mean life time. A comparison study of the proposed plan for the mentioned distributions has been made in terms of the number of groups (<i>g</i>) and also studied the trend of the number of groups (<i>g</i>) for the different known values of shape parameter <InlineEquation ID="IEq3"> <InlineMediaObject> <ImageObject Color="BlackWhite" FileRef="41872_2025_305_Article_IEq2.gif" Format="GIF" Height="14" Rendition="HTML" Resolution="72" Type="Linedraw" Width="13" /> </InlineMediaObject> <EquationSource Format="TEX">\(\theta\)</EquationSource> <EquationSource Format="MATHML"><math> <mi>θ</mi> </math></EquationSource> </InlineEquation>. An example is provided to illustrate the performance of the proposed plan for the considered distributions.</p>

Group acceptance sampling inspection plan for truncated life test based on some finite mixture distributions: a comparative study

摘要

In this article, group acceptance sampling inspection plan is introduced when the quality characteristic follows some finite mixture distributions, viz., the Lindley, Akash and Shanker distributions. In the proposed plan, the lot quality is measured by the lot mean ( \(\mu\) μ ). Minimum number of groups are obtained, which is necessary to ensure for a certain specified lifetime, in case of the Lindley, Akash and Shanker distributions, when the shape parameter \(\theta\) θ known to us. Also, operating characteristic (OC) values of the proposed plan are presented for the ratio of true mean life time to specified mean life time. A comparison study of the proposed plan for the mentioned distributions has been made in terms of the number of groups (g) and also studied the trend of the number of groups (g) for the different known values of shape parameter \(\theta\) θ . An example is provided to illustrate the performance of the proposed plan for the considered distributions.
