Analytical model of a virtualized computing system using semi-markov approach
摘要
Software aging can impact the efficiency of a virtual computing system, potentially leading to system crashes or failures over time. A well-defined approach, known as software rejuvenation, is used to handle the age related bugs. In this paper, we explore the different factors contributing to software aging and introduce a novel approach to software rejuvenation aimed at mitigating the effects of aging. The goal is to improve the efficiency and security of virtualized computing systems. To achieve this goal, an analytical model of a virtualized computing system is developed by taking two host; an operating host and a cold standby as backup. The live migration scheme is used to migrate virtual machines from operating host to backup host before triggering virtual machine monitor rejuvenation. The theory of semi-Markov-regenerative processes is used to find out various performance measures of virtualized computing system. The Simulation results are obtained under the set up of Weibull probability distribution.
