<p>Despite the growing popularity of wrist-worn wearables for wellness applications, their continued use remains questionable with limited evidence about long-standing users’ experiences and perceptions. Therefore, this qualitative study explores the continued use of these devices from the perspective of individuals who have voluntarily maintained regular use over extended periods. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews with twelve long-term users and were thematically analysed. Five main themes were identified: (1) initial drivers for adoption, (2) user expectations, (3) perceptions of usefulness, (4) usage habits, and (5) perceptions of risks. These themes capture long-term users’ experiences and the aspects influencing continued use of wrist-worn wearables for wellness. Adoption was largely motivated by lifestyle changes and device multifunctionality. Reported benefits of sustained use included improved sleep, achievement of fitness targets, enhanced health awareness, and increased social interaction. Habit formation was facilitated by goal setting, daily routines, and active engagement with device features. While most participants were unaware of data usage policies, concerns were expressed regarding data accuracy, over-reliance on the device, and the burden of data overload. The study offers empirically grounded insights that can inform future research and practical guidance for developers aiming to enhance long-term engagement with wrist-worn wearables for wellness.</p>
