A secure key exchange protocol for Industrial Internet of Things based on tropical triad matrix semiring

The rapidly growing sector of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) requires strong security protocols for the transmission and sharing of information. The article presents a novel symmetric key exchange technique that utilises a newly defined algebraic structure known as the Tropical Triad Matrix Semiring. Our protocol utilises tropical algebraic operations to create a distinct approach for ensuring secure key exchange in Industrial Internet of Things environment. The theoretical foundations of the Tropical Triad Matrix Semiring are explained, offering a deeper understanding of its algebraic characteristics. The key exchange algorithm based on this semiring is described highlighting both its efficiency and security characteristics. The proposed protocol’s feasibility and performance are shown through thorough experimental analysis. This article makes a valuable contribution to the developing area of secure communication in the Industrial Internet of Things.
