摘要

This study aimed to identify key characteristics and content to inform the development of an e-health tool based on cognitive behavioral therapy to promote mental health and quality of life of women during (peri)menopause: the Cuidar-ME program. A focus group was conducted to explore mental health professionals’ perceptions about the intervention and an online survey assessed (peri)menopausal women’s preferences and acceptability. Three themes were identified in the focus group: context for intervention development, intervention characteristics, and intervention dissemination. Relevant content (e.g., clusters of symptoms) were identified by both samples as well as interactivity and adherence features. The survey revealed that about 40% of women did not seek professional help. Most women considered the intervention program useful and were willing to use it. By considering the target population and stakeholders’ perceptions in the Cuidar-ME intervention’s design, its adequacy to women’s needs can be enhanced, along with improved implementation, adherence, and effectiveness.
