To be flourished is to be thriving and growing in a holistic manner: physically, mentally and emotionally. This study aimed to assess the psychometric properties of the Arabic version of the Flourishing Scale (FS), a measure of overall life well-being, in a sample of community adults. Our data of this cross-sectional study was collected from a sample of 333 participants with a mean age of 22.95 ± 4.79. Participants were asked to fill an online questionnaire and only participants aged between 18 and 30 were included. In order to examine the factor structure and the measurement invariance of the FS across our sample, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed. CFA suggested a unidimensional model of the FS score, with all 8 items retained. Composite reliability of scores was adequate in the total sample (ω = 0.95/α = 0.95). Moreover, concurrent validity demonstrated significant association between FS scores and mental quality of life. Scores achieved scalar invariance across sex groups, with no significant differences between males and females regarding flourishing scores. According to our analysis, the Arabic version of the 8-item FS is a psychometrically sound tool to measure flourishing and well-being, including good factor structure validity, high internal consistency and measurement invariance.

摘要
