Implementing Sustainable Strategies to Mitigate Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Rice Cultivation in Vietnam

Greenhouse gas emissions from rice land use are one of the factors causing climate change. Therefore, scientists have studied them in different aspects and levels of depth to propose measures to reduce them. However, there has been no research on the factors affecting the application of such measures, so the study aims to identify them and their impact on implementing measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from rice land use. The study investigated farmers who have applied measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to identify the hypothesized factors and used multivariate regression models and evaluation criteria to test them. The study results showed that 7 factor groups affect the application of measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Their impact levels range from 3.22 to 4.73. The group of state policies has the most substantial impact, while the group of land plot factors has the slightest effect. The study also analyzed the impact of the factors and proposed some solutions to improve the effectiveness of applying solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The research results are documents for policymakers and scientists to refer to when solving problems related to greenhouse gas emission reduction in rice production.
