<p>Content conveyed by the media has a&#xa0;decisive influence on images of the State of Israel in Germany. However, journalistic reporting on Israel and the Middle East conflict has hardly been analyzed in detail for a&#xa0;long time. In particular, the question arises as to whether media reports have antisemitic connotations and thereby derealizing perspectives. This is relevant because for several years now, positions that delegitimize the State of Israel have represented a&#xa0;significant pattern of argumentation in antisemitism.</p><p>The article examines for the first time a&#xa0;sample of four media whose reporting sees itself as Christian. The selected 15&#xa0;articles were all published between the Hamas massacre on October&#xa0;7, 2023 and the end of February 2024. The media were deliberately selected as generally moderate, non-fundamentalist and, in some cases, have a&#xa0;high reach. The study was carried out as a&#xa0;qualitative content analysis.</p><p>The results show that openly antisemitic content is rarely communicated in the texts during the period under review. One exception, however, is a&#xa0;report that was picked up by several media outlets and contains anti-Jewish stereotypes, including Israelis being presented as “child murderers.” Furthermore, the corpus contains some serious derealizations regarding the presentation of Israel. These can be recognized by the fact that decidedly anti-Zionist positions and/or connections to anti-Israel boycott campaigns remain uncommented. The texts concerned are Interviews and reports. Some of the people represented here are German, but some are also Christian Palestinians. The described phenomenons create fractures that open up Christian perspectives for interpretations hostile to Israel.</p>
