摘要

Enhancing the effectiveness of Agricultural Waste Management (AWM) is one of the significant goals of related managers. In this regard, considering emerging indicators and adopting appropriate strategies can significantly improve the efficiency of AWM. In this way, the current study attempts to develop an effective hybrid fuzzy decision framework to evaluate the potential strategies for shifting toward a circular economy-based viable AWM. In the first step, the main criteria related to viability and Circular Economy (CE) are identified by reviewing previous studies. Next, the Fuzzy Full Consistency Method (F-FUCOM) method determines the weight of these criteria, and the Fuzzy Vlse Kriterijumska Optimizacija Kompromisno Resenje (F-VIKOR) method ranks the existing strategies. Overall, this research contributes to the literature by developing a novel decision framework to incorporate the CE and viability aspects into AWM. The results indicated that “Waste reduction”, “3R”, “Automated waste sorting”, and “Investment costs” indicators are more important. Also, strategies that focus on the use of “Smart waste management with advanced technologies” and “Smart waste segregation” were identified as superior strategies. Moreover, the achieved outcomes confirm the validity and efficiency of the employed decision framework. Finally, managerial insights are provided.
