Examining Sustainable Logistics indicator for Monitoring System in Liquified Petroleum Gas: An Integrated DEMATEL- Fuzzy Grey VIKOR Framework

This study proposes a hybrid decision framework that integrates DEMATEL and VIKOR to prioritize sustainability indicators and reveal causal leverage points in the subsidized Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) 3-kg distribution system. DEMATEL maps cause–effect structures among environmental, social, economic, and risk criteria to distinguish drivers from outcomes, while VIKOR provides a compromise ranking of alternatives using fuzzy–grey linguistic evaluations and SMART-based weights (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-Bound). The combined approach enables decision makers to select indicators that are both high-impact (causal) and near the positive-ideal (low Q), yielding a coherent basis for governance: causal, low-Q variables serve as leading controls, while effect-side indicators function as lagging verifications. Applied to LPG logistics, the framework clarifies trade-offs among emissions reduction, equity of access, service reliability, safety, and cost-to-serve, and produces an implementable set of monitoring KPIs for a sustainability dashboard. The contribution is twofold: (i) a theoretically grounded, uncertainty-aware method that fuses structure discovery with compromise ranking, and (ii) a managerial blueprint that translates analytics into operational monitoring to guide continuous improvement and policy oversight in essential-commodity logistics.
