摘要

Efficient amine gas processing reduces carbon dioxide emissions in natural gas streams but often encounters setbacks due to corrosion in its amine gas capturing facilities (AGCF), limiting their functionality. This review provides an overview of AGCF, highlighting the mechanisms of corrosion and offering insights into prevention and mitigation techniques. The study specifically reveals that amine corrosion; degradation byproducts like nitramines, formamide, and aldehydes; ecotoxicity; and amine solvent loss during degradation significantly affect AGCF. To address these challenges, the review employs a bibliometric analysis to quantitatively assess research trends and contributions over the past decade, focusing on the multifaceted nature of AGCF challenges. This analysis helps in pinpointing gaps and guiding future research towards more effective corrosion control in AGCF. The review underscores the need for large-scale demonstration plants for carbon capture and storage (CCS) to enhance and validate these corrosion control measures. Furthermore, it emphasises the broader environmental and economic implications of improving AGCF, such as reducing the carbon footprint and enhancing the operational efficiency and safety of facilities like refineries, chemical plants, and natural gas processing plants. The findings advocate for policy changes and revisions in industry standards to advance AGCF technology, aiming to significantly reduce environmental impacts and foster global sustainability efforts. These insights not only promote a deeper understanding of corrosion mechanisms but also pave the way for implementing practical solutions in the industry.
