Purpose <p>To create a map of scientific evidence on Photobiomodulation in Orthodontics to analyze the acceleration of orthodontic movement and organize information demonstrating its effectiveness.</p> Methods <p>A comprehensive literature search was conducted across various databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, adhering to the steps outlined in an evidence map of Systematic Reviews, both with and without meta-analysis. The goal was to consolidate scientific evidence, pinpointing the laser protocols that facilitate photobiomodulation and subsequently accelerate dental movement. This information was then organized and summarized into an evidence map following the guidelines set forth by the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie).</p> Results <p>While the potential benefits of photobiomodulation in expediting orthodontic movement are evident, the need for further robust research is urgent and of utmost importance. Controversies persist regarding the optimal parameters for its use and the efficacy of various clinical therapies for accelerating orthodontic movement.</p> Conclusion <p>Photobiomodulation is promising in accelerating orthodontic movement, but systematic reviews reveal methodological reliability and dosimetry information gaps, particularly in establishing the ideal dosage and treatment frequency. These gaps hinder comprehensive analyses of photobiomodulation’s effectiveness, efficiency, and safety in orthodontic clinical practice for this purpose.</p>
