Supporting Workers with Chronic Illness: The Role of Psychosocial Safety Climate
摘要
The present study assessed the association between employee perceptions of psychosocial safety climate (PSC), a specific aspect of organizational climate, and worker outcomes around psychological health, work engagement, and turnover intentions in a sample of workers with at least one chronic illness. We further examined the potential mediating role of anticipated stigma in this dynamic. Drawing on the PSC Work Model of Stress, we conducted a self-report survey study, collecting data from 288 workers who self-identify with a chronic illness. Participant responses were highly consistent with our proposed model and highlighted the potential value of a strong PSC for workers with chronic illnesses.
