Finding a Humanitarian Perspective: Lessons from Western Philosophy and Beyond
摘要
The article’s purpose is to demonstrate that we are not prisoners of our situatedness and its demands. Rather, we have the ability and the resources to discover mindsets that can inform us in our way forward. The inevitable diversity in cultural perspectives must not lead to a cacophony of voices. This is presented as confusing and abused by some to further their interests at the cost of destroying the human potential to develop a wide range of life plans that are beautiful because they are characterized by sustainable self-actualization. In the end, an image will emerge where different mindsets and cultures are seen to be dwellings that need to be built on a foundation that is universal to humanity.
