Vermittlung für alle, Kompetenzaufbau für einige: Anforderungen der Digitalisierung an Unternehmen im Zusammenhang mit Basisarbeit. Eine qualitative Inhaltsanalyse
摘要
Digital solutions are playing an increasingly important role in the everyday work of Base Workers (often referred to as unskilled workers). However, there is little research on the organizational framework conditions for digital transformation of the respective workplaces. This article therefore examines the demands that companies perceive when introducing digital solutions in connection with Base Work. The theoretical basis is formed by Weiner’s theory of organizational readiness to change. A qualitative content analysis of 18 semi-structured interviews identifies two types of demands: demands that are specific to Base Work but do not vary across profiles of Base Workers, and demands that vary across profiles. In general, digitization in the context of Base Work demands a high degree of mediation and raises practical questions—for example, compatibility with other transformation processes and the working reality of employees. With regard to Base Workers without formal qualifications, the focus is on building skills in the use of digital solutions. The results make an important contribution to theory formation in the context of Base Work and digitalization and offer practical impetus for shaping digital transformation in companies.
Practical Relevance: The results provide scientifically sound advice on how companies can design digital transformation processes with Base Workers in mind.
