摘要

The term “peer review” encompasses various approaches to work- and organisation-related quality assurance that focus on the professional, action-oriented aspects of work design within knowledge-intensive expert systems and interaction systems. This article offers a conceptional analysis of the term peer review, which is widely used in these fields of work, and places it in a more general working and application context. For this purpose, constitutive principles of peer review are isolated from known contexts of meaning and combined to form a unifying definitional framework. Three prototypes are developed and differentiated from related concepts in order to clarify the reference of application in professional practice. In the summary peer rewiew is being conceptualised as a professional principle of action that can be connected in its transitions with external intentions where a peer position is required and indispensable.

Practical Relevance: The use of peer review procedures complements the range of system-related quality assurance methods and takes into account the conditions and logics of professional practice. The framework proposed here is intended to be a classification and analysis scheme for evaluation, an aid for the practical implementation and as a point of contact for research in the field of occupational and organisational science.
