Selection of Best Suitable Titanium Alloy for Biomedical Applications Using Analytical Hierarchical Process

摘要

The present investigation provides a decision-making system utilizing the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) to choose the best titanium alloy for bioimplant applications. A numerical illustration is provided to demonstrate the usefulness of the suggested process for selecting the appropriate titanium alloy. The AHP technique has a hierarchical structure, making it possible for the decision-maker to evaluate and compare the behavior of various titanium alloys. In this investigation, six titanium-based alloys popular for bioimplant applications have been selected for study as alternatives, and properties such as tensile strength, hardness, density, elastic modulus, biocompatibility (non-toxic), and cost are chosen as attributes in order to determine the best suitable bioimplant material. The consistency ratio (CR) is considered below 0.1, as it eliminates the judgmental inconsistency of the decision makers in choosing a biomedical titanium alloy.
