摘要

In the course of the analysis using the documentary method, four types were identified: The spectrum ranges from children who have moderate interest in the topic and whose actions are not oriented towards climate change issues to a type that is continuously oriented towards these issues and takes active action. The two types in the middle have an ambivalent orientation towards climate change issues: They either rarely become active or are very interested in climate change issues but only act accordingly in part. With regard to instances of political socialization, it was shown that parents who are interested in climate issues and act accordingly have a influence on their children. This also applies to older siblings. Peers reinforce climate policy orientations if political interests are pursued there and information is exchanged. Educational institutions such as schools have a partial effect on climate policy thinking and action, especially when individual teachers address this issue. Overall, the analysis shows that children as young as about twelve years old, based on their knowledge and interests, act in an environmentally conscious manner and are politically active. It is important to recognize these practices and children’s participation.
