摘要

The article examines the culture of quotation in contemporary poetry using the reception of the Middle Ages as an example. In this field, there has been a distinct boom for some time, especially since the 1990s, which can partly be attributed to the poet and essayist Thomas Kling, whose citation practice, characterized by a ›joy of quoting‹, has become a model. Starting from him, a ›citation circle‹ in the sign of the Middle Ages is analyzed. It includes prominent poets such as Marcel Beyer, Ulrike Draesner, and, from the next generation, Anja Utler.
