摘要

The study highlights selected aspects of Clemens J. Setz’s literary work in the context of public communication and analyzes how he processes these through performative and thematic emphases. The empirical material primarily includes the following works: Männer in Dunkelheit from the collection Die Vogelstraußtrompete (Setz 2014), Kayfabe und Literatur. Klagenfurter Rede zur Literatur 2019 (Setz 2019b) and Spam from the short story collection Der Trost runder Dinge (Setz 2019a). Setz uses the public space to open up new perspectives and promote societal discussions. His works stimulate reflection by going beyond purely literary questions. The absurdity of modern communication practices is addressed, pointing out the associated dangers and their impacts.
