Zeitschriften als Common Grounds früher Popkulturen
摘要
The article examines structures in illustrated entertainment magazines of the Weimar Republic that serve to bind readers permanently and that create the feeling of forming a common ground as a reception community. Ostentatious seriality, hands-on activities, the suggestion of a common evaluation culture, etc. ensure an aesthetic connection between the magazines and its readers, and a sense of community among the readers themselves. The close reading of selected magazine issues is based on linguistic and interaction-analytical grounding theories.
