<p>Basic biological studies play a fundamental role in effective fisheries management. Nevertheless, such information remains limited for many lesser-known shark species and in developing regions. In this context, the present study provides new insights into key biological traits of <i>Mustelus henlei</i> from Ecuadorian waters. Fieldwork was carried out in Jaramijo, Ecuador, between January and October 2024. A notable female-biased sex ratio was observed at landings (2.94:1). Female total lengths ranged from 42.3 to 71.0&#xa0;cm, while males measured between 40.0 and 75.0&#xa0;cm total length (TL). Strong and statistically significant correlations were found between total length (TL) and both precaudal length (PCL) and interdorsal length (IDL). Size at sexual maturity (<i>L</i><sub>50</sub>) was estimated at 51.21&#xa0;cm TL for females and 54.24&#xa0;cm TL for males, with an inflection point of 49.34&#xa0;cm TL for males. The findings presented here contribute to filling critical knowledge gaps in the life history of <i>M. henlei</i> and provide a foundational basis for future population modeling and management strategies.</p>
