<p><i>Cymothoa frontalis</i>, a buccal attaching fish parasitic isopod is recorded for the first time from the Central west coast of India, from a new host fish Deep-bodied mojarra, <i>Gerres erythrourus</i> belonging to the family Gerreidae. Distribution of <i>C. frontalis</i> in Indian Exclusive Economic Zone was provided. Host preferences of <i>Cymothoa spp</i>. in Indian waters are reviewed.</p>

Cymothoa frontalis, a buccal attaching fish parasitic isopod is recorded for the first time from the Central west coast of India, from a new host fish Deep-bodied mojarra, Gerres erythrourus belonging to the family Gerreidae.
