<p>This study documents the first known case of leucism in the broadnose sevengill shark <i>Notorynchus cepedianus</i> from the Southeastern Pacific, observed in a juvenile female specimen captured off the coast of Chimbote city (9°21’19’’S, 78°28’03’’W), Peru. Leucism is characterized by reduced pigmentation, resulting in a predominantly white appearance while maintaining normal iris color. The captured specimen, measuring 900&#xa0;mm in total length, exhibited a complete absence of the species’ typical dark bluish-grey coloration and irregular black spots. Morphometric comparisons with a normally pigmented specimen revealed no significant differences, suggesting that leucism does not impact size or development at this juvenile stage. Stomach analysis indicated normal feeding behavior, with remains of the Patagonian squid (<i>Doryteuthis gahi</i>) found. This case adds to the limited documentation of leucism in chondrichthyans, highlighting the need for further research into the genetic, environmental, and ecological factors influencing pigmentation anomalies in sharks. The findings also raise awareness of the potential impacts of fishing pressure and pollution on the prevalence of such abnormalities in marine populations.</p>
