摘要

This study develops a cost-effective wastewater treatment method using a novel photocatalyst composed of biochar from palm waste and chalcopyrite (CuFeS2). Applied to wastewater from Moorish baths (Hammams) under solar irradiation, the system achieved chemical oxygen demand (COD) reductions of 91.2% at pH 4 and 91.85% at pH 12. The synergistic interaction between biochar and chalcopyrite enhances photocatalytic performance, offering an environmentally friendly solution for wastewater treatment. This approach not only addresses wastewater management but also contributes to global water resource sustainability by utilizing biomass waste.
