<p>Agadir Bay has been experiencing an increasing influx of xenobiotics due to anthropogenic activities, which has had a negative impact on its ecosystems. Our study aimed to quantify biochemical parameters at three different sites in Agadir Bay (Cap Ghir, Taghazout beach, and Oued Souss estuary) to evaluate the effects of pollutants on the bivalves <i>Mytilus galloprovincialis, Donax trunculus</i> and <i>Scrobicularia plana</i>. Thus, a battery of biomarkers was monitored at a seasonal frequency, including Catalase (CAT), Glutathion S-transférase (GST), Malondialdéhyde (MDA), and Acétylcholinestérase (AChE). The results showed that Taghazout beach had the highest values for biomarkers of oxidative stress, while Oued Souss estuary had the lowest values for both oxidative stress and neurotoxicity biomarkers. Principal component analysis (PCA) was used to identify the physicochemical parameters contributing to the variations in the biochemical parameters. Finally, we highlighted the biochemical responses recorded along the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts through a review of relevant work in Morocco.</p>
