<p>During this study, five aqueous extracts of weeds belonging to different botanical families from northwestern Morocco were tested on two major crops, tomato and carrot. The main objective was to identify the most harmful weeds and those with a lesser impact while assessing the tolerance or sensitivity of crops to these interactions. The results revealed that tomatoes were more affected by the inhibitory effect of some extracts than carrots. Qualitative and quantitative phytochemical analyses of the extracts were performed to deepen our understanding of the underlying mechanisms. The tested extracts have varied impact on germination and seedling growth parameters; <i>Raphanus raphanistrum</i> extract (RRE) has significantly stimulated the measured parameters. In contrast, <i>Dittrichia viscosa</i> extract (DVE) inhibits the germination and the seedlings’ growth processes, which was proved by a significant decrease in growth and germination parameters of tomato and carrot seeds, in comparison to the control, pointing up the presence of different allelochemical compounds. The three other extracts, <i>Visnaga daucoides</i> extract (VDE), <i>Lolium rigidum</i> extract (LRE), and <i>Delphinium ajacis</i> extract (DAE), show an intermediate effect with diverse outcomes, associated with the difference in their chemical composition and physiological impact.</p>
