<p>The study dealt with the management of the <i>Seriola dumerili</i> (Risso, 1810) stock in the Mediterranean Sea. For this reason, a dataset of oceanographic environmental data (sea surface temperature; salinity; chlorophyll concentration), fishery parameter (effort) and landing per unit of effort (LPUE) has been studied through the mixed generalised additive model (GAMM) for the period extended from January 2006 to December 2020 along the eastern coast of Tunisia (Sahel of Tunisia). The introduction of all factors revealed that the interaction between environmental data is the most important element controlling the landing variability along the region, followed by the temporal effect (month). However, the heavy exploitation did not assure the main impact on landings. Since <i>Seriola dumerili</i> dynamics are crucial to maintaining the eco-biology of the species, a fishing season (August to December) has been proposed for the first time to enhance species management in Tunisia’s Sahel.</p>
