A review on the application of various nanotechnologies for corrosion prevention
摘要
This review focuses on the use of nanotechnology in corrosion prevention and highlights the impact of its promotion on the development of corrosion science and engineering with focus on occurrence in various nanotechnologies. The introduction emphasizes the importance of corrosion and its control and introduces nanotechnology in this field. The themes explained are the types of corrosion and the weaknesses that accompany the modern methods of prevention, calling for such innovations. The practical application is demonstrated through some case studies namely, the development of a nanocomposite coating for marine structures and self-healing nano coating for aerospace products. The barriers to be met are also described including financial issues, implementation scalability and at the same time a prospective outlook is developed. In conclusion, the areas of opportunity in promoting resilient and sustainable corrosion prevention are explored to prove the great potential of nanotechnology for the future of corrosion protection and prevention.
