<p>This research aimed to investigate the prevalence of domestic violence (DV) in Abbottabad district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, Pakistan, due to the COVID-19 lockdown. A purposive sampling method was employed to select participants, comprising a total of <i>n</i> = 100 individuals affected by DV. Primarily, the data was collected using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Statistical analysis was performed to analyze the data. The results highlighted that higher DV cases were reported during the lockdown period, with economic and emotional abuse being reported as the most frequent forms of violence. The investigation also highlighted that the lockdown increased the barriers to accessing help in abusive relationships, especially for marginalized females who are excessively affected by isolation, poverty, and lack of awareness. The research concluded that initiatives to address DV should prioritize the availability of community support and focus on addressing influencing factors like socioeconomic factors that exacerbate DV against women.</p>
