Testing Equality of Shape Parameters of Several Weibull Populations
摘要
In this article, we consider the problem of testing the equality of shape parameters of several two parameter Weibull populations. Weibull density is a heavily used distribution in lifetime testing and survival analysis, and the testing of equality of shape parameters often arise in such studies. Using the generalized inference approach, in this article we develop a procedure to test the equality of shape parameters under the complete or Type II censoring scheme. Using simulation, the performance of the proposed procedure is compared against the heavily used testing procedure to test the equality of the Weibull shape parameters. In terms of size and power, when the number of populations get large, the proposed procedure is superior to the heavily used testing procedure available in the current literature.
