<p>Traffic safety and transit equity are both important goals. This study tries to examine the relationship between transit (bus and metro) equity and safety using data from Tehran, Iran. This analysis uses three-step method. First, Data Envelopment Analysis calculates safety efficiency for vehicles, bicycles, and motorcycles. In the second step, Fuzzy Inference System is used to calculate transit equity scores. Correlation analysis and Association Rules Mining are used in the final step to compare safety efficiency and equity score. The results indicate a correlation between bus equity scores and total crashes (0.435). Districts that had more than adequate public transit also had better safety ratings. Overall, concentrating on fair distribution of transit systems in cities is associated with improved safety for all types of travellers, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcyclists, and automobile passengers.</p>
