<p>Concrete block pavement is a popular type of pavement system used in some airport areas due to its cost-effectiveness. In this research, the resistance of concrete blocks containing a variety of additives was evaluated. To achieve this, concrete blocks containing micro-silica gel, fly ash, macro and micro polymer fibers, and recycled asphalt pavement were tested for flexural strength, slip resistance, impact value, and abrasion resistance. The results revealed that micro-silica gel enhanced flexural strength by nearly 20%. according to the flexural strength test results. Fibers improved the modulus of elasticity by about 5%. The results of the British Pendulum test showed that the sliding resistance (Skid Number) of samples containing fibers is almost 50% higher than the resistance of other samples. The results of the abrasion resistance test showed that micro-silica gel and RAP increase the abrasion resistance of ordinary blocks by 8%. The results of the impact test showed that micro-silica gel increased the strength of samples more than twice and RAP almost twice. While types of polymer fibers and fly ash reduce the impact resistance of the control samples by about 60 and 30%, respectively. Examining all the results of the tests also showed that fly ash has no significant effect except that it improves the sliding resistance of concrete by about 20%.</p>
