Time History Analysis of the seismic effects on cantilever slabs of rectangular and C-shaped buildings with shear walls
摘要
The purpose of this study is to use Time History Analysis (THA) to examine the effects of earthquakes on the cantilever balcony (slab) of fifteen-story rectangular and C-shaped buildings with shear walls. Six-time history functions are used to match the desired ground motion while accounting for soft soil and oblique-slip parameters. Along the longer sides of each building is a cantilever balcony, which has been modeled in three distinct cases: all floors, even floors, and odd floors. For using the Indian Standard, the seismic zone for the mentioned structures is assumed to be Zone V. Time History Analysis (THA) is performed using ETABS on the relevant buildings, and the results are analyzed, discussed, and recommended upon, with particular attention paid to the deflection of balcony for each type, to define the most effective size of the cantilever balcony for each set of the cases.
