The impact of different steel fibers percentages on the mechanical properties of Ultra-High-Strength Concrete toward a sustainable composition

摘要

In order to make concrete less brittle, this research examines how steel fibers affect the mechanical characteristics of ultra-high-strength concrete, particularly compressive, flexural, and tensile strength. In this study, the steel fiber content in concrete ranges from 0, 3, 6, and 9% by weight. The mix of 9% steel fibers has a 30% increase in compressive strength compared to the control mix, while the flexural strength and tensile strength improved by 113 and 60%, respectively. After casting, all the specimens underwent steam curing for 36 h. The volume of steel fiber has a positive impact on the results and on the mix design of concrete.
