摘要

The present research aimed to use the clusters analysis technique to create groups and rank them in the 141 municipalities of the state of Mato Grosso located in Brazil, from 1990 to 2018, for the soybean production variables in thousand tons, value of production in thousand reais (R$) and value of derivatives in thousand reais (R$). The proposed methodology was based on the use of the cluster analysis technique, using the DTW (dynamic time warp) distance together with Ward’s hierarchical clustering method, to create the groups, creating three dendrogram structures for each of the variables, and thus the validation of the adequate number of groups occurred by the Mojena method in the dendrogram structures together with Pearson’s statistical correlation test followed by the Mantel test. Dendrograms with 5, 5 and 4 groups were constructed and statistically validated and presented in a staggered way for each variable, respectively, and it was found that they show an increasing trend in each of these variables. It was observed that the development of these variables in the state occurs from the central municipalities to the most peripheral ones and bordering the main highways that cross the state. The present research generated an important staggered portrait of variables linked to the soybean production sector in the state of Mato Grosso in this period, and these results can attract both internal and external investors such as China and other countries interested in this sector.
