<p>Natural resources play a pivotal role in the development of international law. After World War II, the newly decolonised States asserted their right to Permanent Sovereignty over Natural Resources (PSNR). This principle was reiterated in the United Nations General Assembly Resolutions, paving the way to inscription in international instruments. The principle was proposed by the Third World Countries in the unfolding of decolonisation and, therefore, is an integral part of Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL). The paper analyses the underlying principles of PSNR, its connections to TWAIL, exploring the natural resources in Nepal and connecting the Nepali laws related to natural resources to TWAIL.</p>
