摘要

The accumulation of waste tires is substantial, and the process of reusing them has emerged as a paramount global concern. Evidence demonstrates that utilising waste tires in geotechnical and road engineering is a viable solution to address the issues. We performed a bibliometric analysis on the utilisation of waste tires in geotechnical and road engineering. This analysis was conducted using CiteSpace and HistCite software. We collected 259 bibliographic data from the Web of Science Core Collection, spanning the years 2001 to 2023. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of research trends in waste tire applications for geotechnical and road engineering. Key findings include: (1) publication attributes showing rapid growth over the past five years, with China, Iran, and India as the largest contributors; (2) institutional leadership, with Southeastern University and the Indian Institute of Technology system being the most active; and (3) prevailing development patterns and research focal points. By synthesizing these findings, the study not only evaluates current research but also offers practical guidance for researchers entering the field. Additionally, it proposes innovative approaches to enhance the ecological sustainability and cost-effectiveness of waste tire utilization.
