Effect of Trace Element Additions to Al-Cu Casting Alloys
摘要
Small elemental additions can cause changes in the precipitation hardening of Al-Cu based casting alloys. Cadmium, tin and indium produce the most profound effects, but only tin is viable for commercial applications such as automotive suspension components. The study of trace element additions began nearly 100 years ago. Most of the older research will be difficult to find. Also, some findings have never been published. This paper reviews and analyzes the available information and suggests avenues for future research.
