摘要

The promotion of work-oriented basic skills is becoming increasingly important in light of the shortage of skilled workers in the care sector. Effective training modules are work-oriented basic training (AoG). Usually, AoG consists of language courses that are implemented directly in care companies. However, there are also advisory services, support concepts or curricular modules for integration into training as a nursing assistant. Work-oriented basic training, which is implemented directly in companies, is a promising instrument: on the one hand, employees’ specialized (written) language skills can be promoted directly. On the other hand, there is usually added value for the employer, for example through improved employee retention or a better working atmosphere. The following article focuses on the monetary added value of work-oriented basic training in the care sector. With the help of a social return on investment analysis and an explorative mixed-method design, the question of what monetary added value work-oriented basic training can achieve was investigated. The results are presented using three effects and exemplified by calculating the social return on investment score.
