Die Rolle von neutraler, überregionaler, telefonischer Weiterbildungsberatung und verwandter Formen im Weiterbildungsberatungssystem

This research explores the unique contributions of neutral, cross-regional, telephone-based further education guidance within the broader system of further education guidance, pinpointing potential shortcomings in the absence of such a tailored service. Grounded in foundational guidance and counselling theories and prevailing research on the structure of further education guidance, we center our empirical analysis on the Infotelefon Weiterbildungsberatung (Infotelephone Further Education Guidance), a service provided by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research between 2015 and 2022. On the basis of an accompanying study, primarily built around 17 qualitative interviews with guidance counsellors from the Infotelefon Weiterbildungsberatung, this work examines key dimensions of guidance, namely anonymity, neutrality, cross-regional scope, accessibility, and inter-personality. The study culminates in an exploration of how these distinctive and interrelated features shape the existing landscape of further education guidance counseling and highlights the implications for prospective guidance models and subsequent research in this field.
