Case Report <p>This case report highlights the rapid and significant decrease in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) observed in a 29-year-old female patient with uterine leiomyosarcoma and metastasis to the lungs and bone after the first cycle of standard first-line chemotherapy (Adriamycin and trabectedin).</p> Results <p>The patient experienced a drastic decline in LVEF from 55 to 15% and type 1 respiratory failure within 48 h of the first cycle of chemotherapy. </p> Conclusion <p>This case raises concerns about the potential causes and management, which may be secondary to acute cardiac toxicity of chemotherapy agents or tumor lysis syndrome which is rare in solid tumors, but can be fatal.</p>

Case Report

This case report highlights the rapid and significant decrease in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) observed in a 29-year-old female patient with uterine leiomyosarcoma and metastasis to the lungs and bone after the first cycle of standard first-line chemotherapy (Adriamycin and trabectedin).

Results

The patient experienced a drastic decline in LVEF from 55 to 15% and type 1 respiratory failure within 48 h of the first cycle of chemotherapy.

Conclusion
