From Crisis to Conception: An Unusual Case of PSTT with Fertility Rescue
摘要
Background
Placental site trophoblastic tumour (PSTT) is a rare gestational trophoblastic neoplasm which presents various challenges, including its potential impact on fertility in reproductive-age females.
MethodologyWe aim to present a case report of a successful approach to fertility preservation in a nulliparous lady diagnosed with PSTT. A multidisciplinary approach involving multidrug chemotherapy and hysteroscopic resection of the tumour was used. She had a successful childbirth with no evidence of recurrence of disease during postdelivery follow-up.
ConclusionFertility preservation is critical in PSTT due to its occurrence in reproductive-age females with poor response to chemotherapy, highlighting the need for effective strategies and ongoing research.
