摘要

Introduction

Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) is a rare group of tumors that arise from the placental villi. There is a scarcity of reports about presentation and outcomes of GTN from the Middle East.

Aim

We report the presenting features, treatment, and outcomes of eight patients diagnosed to have GTN over a 9-year period from a single institution.

Methodology

Cases diagnosed and treated at the center for GTN from 2013 to 2022 were included. Treatment details and follow-up were obtained.

Results

All patient received chemotherapy. The median time to serological response was 6.8 weeks, and with a median follow-up of 35 months, all patients are in continuous complete remission.

Conclusion

This case series is the first report on the presentation, treatment patterns, and outcomes of GTN from Oman, and may serve as a benchmark for further studies.
