摘要

Purpose

Sharing knowledge with the scientific world an unusual case of brain metastasis of an ovarian adenocarcinoma in collision with a glioblastoma.

Methodes

Selection, writing and literature review of a very rare case report of collision tumor.

Results

The diagnosis of collision tumors leads to a change in therapeutic management and worsens the prognosis of the patient. In radiosensitive tumors, collisions may increase resistance to radiotherapy and require more aggressive surgical management than in isolation as described in the literature outside the central nervous system. Postoperative chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy paradigms must also be appropriately tailored to address the components of collision lesions as well as their monitoring modalities.

Conclusion

The diagnosis of collision tumors remains very difficult with conventional imaging alone; it is generally established by an anatomopathological study after surgical resection of the lesion. It appears absolutely essential to recognize these collision tumors because of the implications in the therapeutic management of patients.
