摘要

Breast cancer is a leading global health concern, with radiotherapy playing a pivotal role in its management. As the therapeutic landscape evolves, de-escalation strategies in radiotherapy are gaining traction, aiming to balance treatment efficacy with minimized adverse outcomes. This article delves into the various de-escalation approaches, highlighting the shift toward hypofractionation as the new standard, the potential benefits of Partial Breast Irradiation (PBI) and Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT), and the careful consideration of omitting radiation in select low-risk patients. It also underscores the importance of patient selection and reviews the latest international guidelines on breast cancer radiotherapy.
