<p>As global concerns about water scarcity and environmental sustainability grow, understanding the drivers of individual water conservation behaviors becomes increasingly important. This exploratory study examines the factors influencing water-saving actions among residents of Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico. Using the Bayesian Mindsponge Framework (BMF), it explores how concerns about drought, population growth, water bills, and water quality are associated with conservation behaviors. The findings indicate that while concern about drought has a reliable positive association with increased conservation efforts, concern about population growth is a weak-reliable positive association. In contrast, concerns about water bills and water quality have the opposite effect. Such counterintuitive findings can be explained by the potential influence of persistent water contamination issues in Albuquerque. Further research—particularly longitudinal studies and experimental approaches—would help clarify these dynamics and inform more effective conservation strategies.</p>
