<p>This systematic review integrates current research into transit-oriented development (TOD) with a special focus on economic development and sustainability in urban contexts. Although existing reviews have considerably covered TOD's environmental and social advantages, the present study covers key gaps through a systematic analysis of its economic impacts, often underemphasized or even secondary. Through the examination of a wide range of academic articles, journals, and conference papers, this review offers an exhaustive overview of TOD's economic advantages, limitations, and trends of adoption. It delves into the interrelated aspects of sustainable urban growth, closing the loop between transit planning and economic development. The conclusions present a rich understanding of how TOD approaches foster economic resilience, urban vitality, and sustainable growth. This research offers insightful information for policymakers, urban planners, and researchers interested in incorporating transit-oriented strategies into the general context of urban economic development.</p>
